Paul Turczynski is the Chief Engineer for Intelligence and Security Systems (I&SS) at Boeing, a Division within the Network and Space Systems business unit. I&SS’ mission is dedicated to fulfilling the needs of our nation’s intelligence agencies and homeland security. I&SS is responsible for supporting the missions of Cyberspace / Information Assurance, Information Sharing; Integrated Security Operations; Maritime Domain Awareness; and Ground / Tasking, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination across multiple intelligence types.
Prior to assuming role of Chief Engineer for I&SS, Mr. Turczynski was the Director of Strategic Technology, part of the Business Development organization for Space and Intelligence Systems. In this role, he was responsible for selection and performance of corporate R&D, corporate alliances, technology road-mapping and technology integration with the other business units. Additionally, he ran the Network and Space Systems Information Interoperability Infrastructure (I3) R&D effort.
Prior to leading technology strategy, Mr. Turczynski was the Manager of S&IS Mission Systems Ground Systems group, which provides services to the commercial, defense and intelligence communities. Mr. Turczynski was responsible for leveraging multiple programs and core competencies in information technologies and GIS to establish a growth practice to complement the majority of S&IS business.
Mr. Turczynski has a broad base of experience spanning technology development and systems engineering for the DoD and other government agencies. He is a systems architect whose technology expertise includes high tech prototyping, analysis, design and development of ground system components and large, unique systems.
He joined Boeing in March 2000. Prior to joining Boeing, Mr. Turczynski was a program manager at Lockheed Martin Management and Data Systems in both Washington DC and Valley Forge, PA.
Mr. Turczynski earned Bachelors degrees in Electrical and Biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1990, a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 and an MBA from George Washington University in 1998. His hobbies include waterpolo, early Americana, and reading.
